A comfort zone is a great place but nothing grows there

Yet again my dear friend has given me inspiration for another blog post. (she is unaware of this aha)

Suffering from anxiety is difficult and certain situations others get normally anxious about we only get anxious about more. Even without anxiety most people like to stick with what they know and live within something they see as 'their comfort zone'. The title of this post could not be more true.

Anytime you start something new you think about what you use to have and what you wish you had the comfort of again. You also like to stick with things and even people you find familiar.

As soon as you step out of your comfort zone whatever it may be you will grow as a person. You will experience new things, meet new people. These new things in your life are scary as hell because you do not know where you stand with them and that is an uncomfortable feeling.

What you need to remember is every new beginning, every new challenge will become the norm after a while even though it doesn't feel like that to begin with.

If you stay within your comfort zone you will be content, no doubt about it (at least for most people) but if you step outside your comfort zone you will be content all the same. Because as I said it will become your norm.

Change is always scary but it's also exciting and you only have one life to live, why would you want to stay put somewhere or just be 'comfortable'. You will not look back on your life when your old and grey and say 'I am so glad I stayed put'. You will say however, you wish you tried new things.

I am not saying I will not behave in the exact opposite way I have advised against because I am only human and change is scary. But in your right mind, you will thank yourself in time, when you realise you did the right thing.
