I started reading when I left School and entered the working world, I did not realise then how important reading would be to me throughout my struggles in life. I have been suffering from Anxiety and Depression for possibly 5 years, only being aware for 3, reading actually provides an escape for me where little else does.

When you are having a hard time and all you want is to not think about it reading takes you to another life, another world and because of this you forget your own problems and live through the story instead.

I know myself how crazy this all sounds but it works for me and I don't think anyone has the right to judge or can understand what I see as a coping mechanism. I don't really understand it myself but all I know for sure is reading makes me happy and happiness is all we ever want to experience in life.

This isn't in any way shape or form a sad post it's the complete opposite. I'm writing about something important to me.

If you don't read you should, it is one of the best things to do with your time and I like to think if you give it a go you won't turn back. Look at it as an escape because then you'll feel what I feel.
